Since I am starting this blog towards the end of our traveling season I am going to rewind to the beginning of the year. We have seen so much of the country this year that it would be a shame not to mention all of our adventures.
Portland was our first big trip of the year. This trip was for pleasure and before the purchase of the "Grumpencamper" so we hopped on southwest and headed west to visit Jamie's cousin Sara for a long weekend.
We stayed at the, Hotel Monaco Portland (http://www.monaco-portland.com/). It was AMAZING! This was our first time to travel with our 3 month old. I know we were brave, but he did great flying all the way from Nashville to Portland. The staff were all very friendly and they even have a resident dog that you can find wandering around the lobby. Unfortunately I don't have any pictures of the hotel but check out the link to the hotel above.
On our next trip to Portland I would like to try out the Nines (http://www.thenines.com). I'm sure you can't go wrong. Our decision of where to stay was a hard one as there are so many great boutique hotels in the Portland area.
While in Portland we enjoyed a lot of great shopping. One of our favorite boutiques was, Golden. Jamie's cousin Sara owns this darling little boutique and if you are ever in the Portland area you need to stop in and shop, shop, shop. http://goldenportland.com
One of our days in Oregon we decided to venture out to the coast which was unlike anything I am used to. Being a Florida girl the beach means white soft sand and not one cliff in site. I must say the Oregon coast took my breath away. Here are a few pictures.
Look familiar? You may recall this from a scene in a classic 80's movie called the Goonies.
I couldn't get over all of the beautiful star fish. They were so colorful.
